3 Tips for Commercial Truck Branding

Branding your commercial truck fleet is a sure way to improve your company’s visibility in the community. As you and your drivers work around town or around the state, your vehicles can proudly bear your logo, contact info, and more to other drivers and passersby. Here are some tips for nailing your advertising through commercial truck branding:

Determine Your Market

Know your demographic and consider which aspects of your business are most relevant to the fellow drivers who are most likely to see your truck(s). Consider the speeds of roads on which your drivers frequently travel and the amount of stops they are likely to make. This will help you to focus on what to advertise based on how long your truck-side ad will actually be viewed.

For example, trucks that frequently travel the highway will benefit from very simple designs with little more than your company name and a phone number; whereas city trucks that travel surface roads with stoplights and multiple destinations can bear significantly more information.

Develop a Great Design

Consider what you might like your vehicle wraps to look like. Do you want the logo prominently displayed on both sides? What color should your background be? Do you want to incorporate pictures to help boost your brand?

These questions and others can help you to narrow down a design that you like and your vendor or a designer can help you to draw up a basic sketch for your fleet. Keep your design simple and informative – with contact information easily visible from many angles – to communicate best with drivers who may have no more than a few seconds to view your ad.

Get Driver Buy-In

Your mobile ads are a portal to your company 24/7, and your drivers must be aware of this fact at all times. Drivers must remain courteous at all times and obey driving laws like speed limits and stop signs. They should, of course, be doing these things anyway, but the cost of rudeness and law breaking is much higher when every other driver on the road automatically associates the bad behavior with your brand, thanks to the branded vehicle your driver is operating.

Truck branding is a very effective way to increase your company’s presence in your community and with a little research and some driver training, you can turn your fleet into a powerful advertising machine.
